Has your child had their back to school dental checkup and cleaning yet? If not, please consider this: school age children miss more than 51 million hours of school every year thanks to dental diseases affecting their smile health. Not only that but in school-age children, cavities are the most common chronic disease experienced.

What does this mean for you? As a parent, you can help give you child the strongest chance of success by helping them develop and practice good daily oral hygiene habits. You can also make sure they are seen regularly by our dentists to make sure their healthy smiles are on track. Discovering dental problems early is key to helping your child avoid missing school, as well as keeping their smiles pain-free and helping them avoid problems with chewing and speaking because of oral issues.

Our KidsKare P.C. team is pleased to offer routine dental cleanings and oral exams for your family to support their oral health. We strive to keep your family free from the pitfalls of cavities and gum disease. We work to pinpoint dental problems early before they become detrimental to their smiles.

Next, we check your child’s permanent molars and premolars to determine if they may benefit from dental sealants. These sealants are thin coatings which create an invisible barrier that is painted onto your child’s back teeth to protect them as they chew. In between dental visits, we encourage using a fluoride toothpaste to protect tooth enamel. You can also ask us about fluoride treatment.

Our team in your area, look forward to helping provide your family with all of your smile care needs, and will do everything we can to help your child have a successful school year! Please call 575-532-5437 if you have any questions or concerns, or to schedule a visit with one of our experienced dentists at a location near you.
